GIVING PUBLIC NOTICE OF THE APPROVAL BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF NATIONAL ASSEMBLY BILL NO. 958, NOW KNOWN AS COMMONWEALTH ACT NO. 512

In accordance with the provisions of section 4 of the Bill of the National Assembly No. 958, entitled "An Act to amend certain sections of the Philippine Tariff Act of nineteen hundred and nine, as amended, for the purpose of raising revenue," I, Manuel L. Quezon, President of the Philippines, do hereby give public notice of the approval by the President of the United States on December 22, 1939, as provided in section 2, subsection (a), paragraph 9, of the Act of Congress of March 24, 1934, as amended, of said National Assembly Bill No. 958, with the exception of section 3 which was vetoed by me pursuant to the provision of subsection (3), section 10, article VI, of the Constitution.

The National Assembly Bill above-mentioned becomes Commonwealth Act No. 512.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Commonwealth of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done at the City of Manila, this first day of January, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty, and of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, the fifth.
