Proclamation No. 455

CALLING THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY IN SPECIAL SESSION ON SEPTEMBER 25, 1939

Whereas the public interest requires that the National Assembly be convened in special session to adopt the necessary legislation that will enable the Government to meet the conditions arising out of the present emergency;

Now, therefore, I, Manuel L. Quezon, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the power vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby call the National Assembly in special session in the City of Manila on the twenty-fifth day of September, nineteen hundred and thirty-nine, at four o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of considering the measures recommended by the Executive for consideration at its last special session, and such other matters as may be submitted from time to time by the President.

All persons entitled to act as members of the Second National Assembly are required to take notice of this proclamation.

Given under my hand and the seal of the Commonwealth of the Philippines the twenty-second day of September, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and thirty-nine, and of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, the fourth.
