[ Memorandum Circular No. 1206, December 29, 1980 ]

REQUIRING GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND EMPLOYEES IN THE METRO-MANILA AREA TO ATTEND THE CEREMONIES AT THE LUNETA ON THE OCCASION OF THE 84TH DEATH ANNIVERSARY OF OUR NATIONAL HERO, DR. JOSE RIZAL, ON DECEMBER 30, 1980.

In connection with the commemoration of the 84th death anniversary of our National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, at least fifty (50) officials and employees from each Ministry, Bureau and Agency of the government in the Metro-Manila area are hereby required to attend the ceremonies at the Rizal Monument in Luneta on December 30, 1980. The ceremonies start at 7:00 a.m. with the nationwide wreath-laying at the foot of the Rizal Monument and the half-masting of the Philippine Flag to be led by His Excellency, the President of he Philippines.

In view of the significance of the event, it is urged that the ceremonies commemorating the occasion be witnessed and participated in by government officials and employees.1aшphi1

Accordingly, all heads of ministries, bureaus and agencies, including government-owned and controlled corporations in the Metro-Manila area are hereby enjoined to see to it that the provisions of this Circular are strictly complied with and direct the said officials and employees to be at the designated places for government personnel at the site of tie Rizal Monument not later than 6:30 a.m. on December 30, 1980.
