EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 287 July 25, 1987

REPEALING PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1153, ENTITLED "REQUIRING THE PLANTING OF ONE TREE EVERY MONTH FOR FIVE CONSECUTIVE YEAR BY EVERY CITIZEN OF THE PHILIPPINES"

WHEREAS, the policy announced in the Presidential Decree No. 1153, "to call upon every citizen of the Philippines to help, as a duty and obligation, to conserve and develop the resources of the country" can be achieved without the compulsion and the penalties for non-compliance therewith as set forth in the Decree.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines, do hereby order:

Sec. 1. Presidential Decree No. 1153, entitled "Requiring the Planting of One Tree Every Month For Five Consecutive Years By Every Citizen of the Philippines" and the rules and regulations issued pursuant thereto are hereby repealed.

Sec. 2. This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
